The bodies of nine VizslaSivler miners in Mexico who were abducted in January have been found and identified as one more remains missing.
All 10 were working at the company’s mine site in Concorida, Sinaloa, on January 23. No details about causes of death, when the deaths occurred, or the suspects have been disclosed.
The Canadian-headquartered miner confirmed it continues to work with local authorities on the investigation and is also still in contact with the missing miner’s family. None of the victims have been publicly identified.
“This is a devastating outcome, and our heartfelt condolences are with all the families impacted. We stand beside them with continued support as we mourn our colleagues and friends,” said Michael Konnert, President and CEO.
“We will always carry this loss with us. We will honor our colleagues through the work we do every day and our ongoing commitment to their families, our community in Sinaloa, and the values that define us.”
Vizsla’s portfolio in Mexico includes the wholly owned Panuco silver and gold project in the Mexican state. It came online for commercial production in 2026 after seven years of development work.
